Our shop is in Melville, so Suffolk County is home turf. We have been replacing boilers out here since 1979, from Huntington all the way out to Montauk. Oil, gas, steam, hot water. If it heats your home, we work on it.
We replace boilers across all of Suffolk County, from the western border to the East End. Here are the communities we work in most often.
We are literally based in Suffolk County. Our shop is on South Service Road in Melville, and most of our crew lives within 20 minutes of here. When you call us for a boiler replacement in Suffolk County, you are not calling some company that has to drive an hour to get to you. We are already here.
That proximity matters for a few reasons. It means we can get to you fast, especially in an emergency. It means we know the local building departments and their permit requirements. And it means we have been working on Suffolk County homes for over 45 years, so we know the housing stock, the common heating setups, and the issues that come up again and again.
This is one of the biggest differences between Nassau and Suffolk when it comes to boilers. A significant number of Suffolk County homes, especially east of Smithtown, still heat with oil. Natural gas lines have not reached every street out here, and a lot of homeowners are either stuck with oil or have not gotten around to converting yet.
If you are one of those homeowners, we can help you figure out your options. If gas is available on your street, an oil-to-gas conversion is usually the smartest move. We coordinate with National Grid on the gas line, remove your old oil boiler, install the new gas unit, handle the venting and piping, and can help with oil tank decommissioning. The whole thing typically takes two to three days.
If gas is not available, we also install high-efficiency oil boilers that are far more efficient than what you probably have now. Brands like System 2000 and Williamson make excellent oil-fired units that can significantly reduce your fuel consumption.
Western Suffolk, the Huntington, Babylon, and Islip areas, has a mix of post-war ranches and split-levels that are similar to what you find in Nassau. A lot of these homes have hot water baseboard systems or older steam systems. When it is time for a replacement, we look at the whole picture: your existing distribution (radiators, baseboards, radiant), your fuel source, and what kind of efficiency and comfort level you want.
Central Suffolk, the Brookhaven, Smithtown, and Centereach corridor, was built up more in the 70s and 80s. You see more oil-fired hot water boilers out here. Many of these are now 30 to 40 years old and are way past their expected lifespan. If your boiler is from that era and still running, it is not a question of if it will fail, it is a question of when.
The East End, including Riverhead, Southampton, East Hampton, and Shelter Island, has its own set of challenges. Larger homes, seasonal properties, and limited access to natural gas all factor into the replacement decision. We make the drive out east regularly and are familiar with the building departments out there.
We carry 11 brands and we recommend different ones depending on your situation. During your free estimate, we will walk you through the options that make sense for your home and your budget.
For Suffolk County oil boiler replacements, we lean toward System 2000, Williamson, and New Yorker. These brands build reliable oil-fired units with strong efficiency ratings. For gas systems, Navien and Bosch wall-hung condensing boilers are popular choices, and for cast iron replacements, Weil-McLain and Burnham are hard to beat.
Suffolk County boiler replacements require a plumbing permit from your local township. The ten towns of Suffolk County (Babylon, Brookhaven, East Hampton, Huntington, Islip, Riverhead, Shelter Island, Smithtown, Southampton, and Southold) each have their own building department with their own requirements. We deal with all of them regularly and handle the full permit process on every job, including scheduling the inspection.
Like we always say: if a contractor is willing to skip the permit, what else are they willing to skip? We do things the right way every time.
If you are on National Grid or PSEG Long Island, you may be eligible for rebates when you upgrade to a high-efficiency boiler. Federal tax credits are also available for qualifying equipment. We track all the current incentive programs and make sure our customers get every dollar they are entitled to. We handle the rebate applications as part of our service.
Need to spread the cost? We offer financing options including zero-interest plans on qualifying installations.
We serve all of Nassau County too, from Floral Park to Massapequa. If you have friends or family on the western end of the island, we are happy to help them as well. See all of our service areas.
